"B'more Cultured is a volunteer group of Baltimore high school students who work with educators, parents, and artists. Since 2006 we've been traveling to Nicaragua to live and work in solidarity with rural communities through a cultural exchange organization called "Bridges to Community." We have worked with families and communities to build homes, improve sanitation, create murals, and build lasting relationships.
Throughout the year we organize our trips and local service projects based on mutual interests and needs. We love making presentations and showing our documentary, called "In Solidarity," to raise cultural awareness and to recruit new members.
We believe young people are protagonists of our future and by working along-side each other, we experience meaningful opportunities that open our eyes to social inequalities, untold histories, and our civic responsibilities." -From the B'more Cultured website.
