DorkBot
From BaltoCo
| |
[edit] DorkBot Baltimore is the local chapter of the internationally-active network of artist-engineer collectives, DorkBot.
There are about 50 dorkbot groups scattered throughout the world. Generally, they are clubs where artists and engineers meet, encourage each other, and demonstrate/ teach/ troubleshoot their projects.
Dorkbotters meet to pervert technology. They build robots, they bend circuits, they electrocute pickles, they hook things up to the internet that you would not expect. Group interests center on the use of microcontrollers in art projects and SRL. We admire Kelley Bell's Hydra muchly.
Dorkbot Baltimore has met three times now (as of July 18, 2008). There are people involved from UMBC, MICA, McDonnel-Douglas. There are local artists and engineers.
All are welcome. We meet in the Creative Alliance's cage (upstairs, down the long hall, away from the air conditioning). Third Tuesdays, every month.
There is a mailing list.
People involved: Please add yourself to the list if you like.
