Help talk:Contents

[edit] My idea for the help section
I started working on a new Help page the other day, but then realized we already had Help:Contents. So, I am going to move the info from the Help page to the Help:Contents page--then, maybe I'll delete the Help page.

[edit] Idea continued...
I'm thinking of a format such as this:
- Main help page is Help:Contents
- This main page is just a list of links to the individual instructional pages:
- Help:Text
- Help:Lists
- Help:Links
- Help:Media OR Help:Images, Help:Videos, and Help:Audio
- Help:Headings
- Help:Table of Contents
- Help:Tables
- Help:Templates
- This would be a basic description of what templates are and how to implement them, along with including a list of links to the various template pages.
- This main page is just a list of links to the individual instructional pages:

[edit] Oh and...
I don't think these help pages need to be as detailed as what you might find on the MediaWiki main site, but instead a more dilluted version that points out the basic techniques to creating and editing articles. I think that once a user understands our help sections, then they can move to more sophisticated tutorials elsewhere. I'm thinking of these help pages as starters, not end-alls.
